Characterization of Occlusion Situations Occurring in Real{world Traac Scenes
نویسندگان
چکیده
During evaluation of real{world traac scenes, we often encounter the situation that the vehicles under scrutiny are temporarily occluded by dynamic or stationary scene components. Vision{based tracking algorithms often fail in tracking vehicles under such conditions. Contextual knowledge about occlusions is expected to facilitate the vehicle tracking process. We collected a set of potential occlusion situations, described by primitive predicates which are modeled by means of fuzzy sets, and set up a transition diagram in order to obtain all possible transitions between these occlusion situations. We are thus able to characterize the temporal development of occlusions. In this contribution we compute such occlusion characterizations from real{world image sequences as an intermediate step towards algorithmic formulations of natural language descriptions of activities captured by image sequences.

Online multiple people tracking-by-detection in crowded scenes
Multiple people detection and tracking is a challenging task in real-world crowded scenes. In this paper, we have presented an online multiple people tracking-by-detection approach with a single camera. We have detected objects with deformable part models and a visual background extractor. In the tracking phase we have used a combination of support vector machine (SVM) person-specific classifie...
متن کاملReal-time Traac Monitoring
Traac statistics desired by road engineers and planners , and \traac warning" systems demand real-time performance which precludes the use of batch processing. We apply recent real-time tracking techniques along with scene speciic tuning of the dynamics to enable the tracker to accurately predict target location and thus reduce the amount of search and/or image processing required. The beneets ...
متن کاملPattern Recognition Seminar Real-World Pedestrian Detection
In this paper, we address the challenging task of pedestrian detection. The topic keyword Real-World should be noted as a synonym for a realistic detection environment (e.g. real-time, robustness, occlusions). We present some basic approaches for urban human detection and refine them to a suitable solution. We then discuss problems of detectors with common scene conditions and introduce an dete...
متن کاملRendering Stereoscopic Augmented Reality Scenes with Occlusions using Depth from Stereo and Texture Mapping
Augmented Reality (AR) is commonly used in the construction industry to visualize proposed structures and/or operations in their real world environment as it greatly enhances the realism of the viewing experience without having to construct 3D models of complex real world scenes. In order to achieve convincing scenes in AR applications, the virtual objects should be correctly occluded by the re...
متن کاملObject Search Using Orientation Code Matching
A new method for object search is proposed. The proposed scheme is based on matching gradient information around each pixel, computed in the form of orientation codes, rather than the gray levels directly and is robust against irregularities occurring in the real world scenes. A probabilistic model for robust matching is given and verified by real image data. Experimental results for real world...
